Amazon settled a lawsuit over a teenager's homework, which was lost during the infamous deletion of Orwell's 1984 e-book from all Kindle™ devices, by paying a ridiculous amount of money.
Personally, I think even in college I never submitted any homework that was worth more than 50 bucks.

So now, students have a new excuse: "The Kindle ate it?"
Let's keep in mind that the 150k is for a class-action suit, and is going to charity, and other Kindle users who signed up under the arrangement are getting $30 gift certificates.
Sounds fair to me, for such a major corporate c*ck-up.
